Components

Components are the building blocks of pages. Many components can be combined to build a page. By default store templates come with the necessary components.

To view a list of your Live and Draft components select Components from the store builder Content menu.

Adding Components

Components can be added from the Store Components List or from the Page Components List.

Adding from the Store Components List.

  1. Navigate to Components from the store builder Content menu.

  2. Select Add Component.

Adding from the Page Components List.

  1. Navigate to a Page and select the Components Tab.

  2. Select Add Component or select the ••• icon on a component and select Add Component Before or Add Component After.

Next

  1. Select if you want to add a component from the MPower component library or if you would like to add an existing Live component or Draft component. You can also select Duplicate and Add if you would like to create a copy of the component instead of reusing it. Typically global components are added and non global components that exist on other pages are duplicated and added. If you would like to reuse a component on multiple pages make the component a Global component.

  2. Once added you can then use the components form to configure it.

  3. Once configured select Save.

Global Components

Global components are components which are used across multiple pages such as a Nav bar or Footer. To make a component global check the Global option when editing the component.

Linking Components

Components can be linked so they don’t have to be added individually to each page. For example you might always want to include a Mega Menu below a Nav Bar component so both display together.

To link a component.

  1. Navigate to Components from the store builder Content menu.

  2. Select the ••• icon on the component you would like to link other components to and select Link Before or Link After.

  3. Select Link on the component you would like to have linked. Linked components will show at the top and can be reordered.

When components are linked you will see them grouped.

Swapping Components

In cases where you need to swap and replace a component with a different one you can use the Swap option. This is helpful if you are replacing a global component and don’t want to update every page where the component is included such as a Nav Bar or Footer.

  1. Navigate to Components from the store builder Content menu.

  2. Select the ••• icon on the component you would like to link other components to and select Swap.

  3. Find the component you would like to swap the current component with and select Swap.
