Categories (Store)
Categories can be custom or global and can be used not only for categorizing products but also blogs, themes, industries or anything you want to categorize.
Category Types
Category types are a way of grouping categories by type such as Product, Blog, Industry, Them, Occasion or any custom type you want to create. We currently offer the following category types. If we don’t not have one listed that you would like us to add please submit a request ticket. All stores include pages to display a list of categories by type.
Themes

Both products and pages on your site can be associated with various categories within each category type. For example a blog post may be related to a blog category, theme and product categories allowing the post to be displayed on pages assigned to those categories.

Categories
Global Categories
Global categories are used primarily for distributor stores where products are categorized using MPower global category structure. See store configuration for more information on enabling or disabling the use global categories for your store. By default Distributor Stores use global categories.
Non-Global Categories
For stores which have their own category structure categories can be created and used individually per store. By default Company and Popup Stores require categories to be created.
Product Categories
Product categories are the most commonly used category types and control how and where your products are displayed in Product List components.
Adding Categories
From the store builder select Categories.
Select Add Category.
Fill out the following fields
Name REQUIRED - The name of your category.
Slug REQUIRED - The url of your category. I.e. https://store.mpowerpromo.com/cat/your-category-slug.
Category Type REQUIRED - The type of category you are creating.
Parent Category - If you would like this category to be a sub category select its parent.
Select Save Category.
